Bollywood : 2015 started with a bang forAkshay Kumar. The actor impressed many with his stint as officer Ajay Singh Rajputin Neeraj Pandey’s film Baby and also set new records at the box office. 2016 too is anticipated to kick-start big for Akki with his much awaited release Airlift starring The Lunchbox actress Nimrat Kaur. And from whatever pics we’ve got our hands on, the film looks promising. But we hear that Akki has not charged a penny as his acting fee for this one. Yes! Instead, he has figured out a wiser plan; he has asked for an 80 percent share in the total profits as his remuneration. Now isn’t that something?
Confirming the same, a source close to the project quoted to a leading daily and said, “Akshay has many movies in hand but in Airlift he sees the potential. The film which will be made at a budget of Rs. 30 crores will be seeing a lot of growth at the box office. Hence, Akshay has decided to share the profits instead of charging fees as remuneration.”
The first look of the film was recently revealed and has built curiosity, ever since. Airlift is a film based on true events and is set in the 199os, the period of the Gulf War in Kuwait. The film will shed light on the civilian evacuation which saw more than 170,000 thousand Indians being evacuated from the war hit Kuwait, Bollywoodlife.com reports.
In Airlift, Akshay will be seen playing Ranjit Katyal, who operates and leads the evacuation, in turn giving up something of utmost personal importance. Nimrat, on the other hand, will play awoman living a luxurious life, with tons of moolah to spendand a kickass mansion to live in.The film will hit screens on January 22, 2016. (BollywoodChain.Com)
